9 Man NYIFC Comes From Behind to Defeat 10 Man Eintracht

              Matchday 6 saw the Boys in Black and Gold go up against bottom of the table SC Eintracht at Randall’s Island. The Reserves side opened up the day with a comfortable 3-0 win and the Firsts hoped to follow suit. SC Eintracht opened up the score line after capitalizing on some miscommunication in the Lion’s back line despite the Boys having substantial control of the match. It took until the opening 6 minutes for Josh Dutosme to level the score. NYIFC took back control of the driver’s seat and once again dominated possession and the tempo of the game. Chaos would break out late in the second half, however, after Josh lightly body checked Eintracht’s #10. The opposing player got up and what started off as yelling escalated into shoving, and then exploded with punches being thrown by Eintracht and members of both teams colliding. A Chin Waggle with the President

              After a successful freshman season in Div 2 of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League, I had a chat with President Nick Platt about his thoughts of the previous season and looking ahead.   The Pride: From an organizational perspective, how successful do you and the board view the concluded Div 2 inaugural season?   Nick Platt: Before the season, I said to the board that I would be happy if we could reach 4th place for the first team, and just asked that the reserves be competitive. It was a real transition year for us going from 1 to 2 teams. It brings a huge amount of challenges with it and so I felt this was a good objective for us as we acclimated to the division and figured out the logistics of two teams within the club. One of the main things I felt was important for us to implement was a 'One Club' mentality to ensure that we stayed united and ensured that both squads were utilized effectively.
