A Cup Win going into Fall Final

  The Boys Line up for Penalties  November 13 th , 4PM, saw NIYFC play Manhattan Celtic II in the Flamahft Cup in what would ultimately be a game of two halves. The first half, Celtic poured on tremendous amounts of pressure and entirely took the Lion’s midfield out of the game. NYIFC struggled to find any purchase beyond their own half and after a sustained assault, Celtic finally earned their reward and went up 0-1. The second half would see the Lion’s kick off and immediately impose their will. They played the free-flowing football they’re accustomed to and started threatening Celtic, stinging the keeper’s palms multiple times before finally equalizing. Blistering Attacks Sees NY Inter Take Down Hoboken FC II

              MD 7 saw NYIFC travel down to New Jersey to take on Hoboken FC. The Reserves opened things up against Hoboken III and suffered a 6-3 defeat. Losses such as these rarely have silver linings, however, the traveling Lions came back from a 4-0 deficit at half time to claw back 3 goals before conceding two more. They’ll look to lick their wounds and get back on course. The First Team saw much greater success, with Conor King securing a brace for himself in the first half and Nick Cho rifling one outside of the box to secure the win, 2-3. The Lion’s gameplan was well thought out and perfectly executed on the offensive front. Forwards harassed and bullied the defensive backs any time a ball was played out the back and didn’t allow Hoboken much time to gather their feet and breathe.
